Future Innovations Award
Together with Sparbanken Skåne, Lund University is giving out SEK 500 000 to students and researchers with ideas that can make a difference and create societal value. Ideas that are so good they can become Future Innovations.
Our world is facing major challenges. Demand for innovative solutions is huge. We need to think and act differently.
There are many ideas here at Lund University about how to improve the world and the human condition. Do you have an idea that could make a difference? Something that could become a new service, a new way of working, a new product or maybe a solution that can make something that exists already so much better? Here is a chance to put it into action!
Six prize-winners will share SEK 500 000 – and of course receive help to make their ideas a reality.
Who can apply?
We welcome ideas and projects from all disciplines. Traditionally innovation has been associated with technical solutions or medical breakthroughs, but it could just as well be an idea with societal benefit or systemic change as its main goal. Therefore, we have added sustainability and societal benefit as assessment criteria in the competition.
The only formal requirement is that you, or at least one of you if you are a team, is a student or employee at Lund University.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for ideas that answer a real need, ideas that are sustainable, think long-term and bring societal benefit. Find out more on our assessment criteria here
The definition of what constitutes an idea is not clear-cut – but you cannot have made money from it previously. Perhaps it’s a promising research finding or a solution to a problem that you have been thinking about or working on for a while.
To select the winners, we have created a jury with experience in entrepreneurship, sustainability, social innovation, investment and company building.
