Programme: Validate

Do you have a project or startup that you've already tested a bit and where you've had initial customer contact? Looking for ways to further develop your idea? Then VALIDATE is the programme for you! Apply on or before March 18, 2025.

VALIDATE is a programme for students, doctoral students or researchers at Lund University who want to take their projects or early-stage startups to the next level. The programme is run in English, and we welcome projects from all faculties.

During four interactive sessions, you’ll learn:

  • Stakeholder mapping – Identify and understand the actors who influence or are affected by your idea, so you can direct your time and energy where it matters most.
  • Business hypothesis – Develop realistic assumptions about how your idea can become economically sustainable and successful.
  • Customer journey – Understand how your customers think and act from start to finish, so you can address their needs and create value throughout the entire process.
  • Storytelling – Present your idea in an engaging, memorable way that attracts customers, users and potential partners.

Together, these components give you a strong foundation for growing or scaling your project. You’ll know whom to talk to, which problem you’re solving, and how best to communicate the value of your idea!

Who Can Apply?

You are a student, researcher, or employee at Lund University. You already have an idea or project that has undergone some market research, ideally with a few early customer contacts.

It doesn’t matter which field your idea belongs to or which faculty you’re from—we welcome diversity and variety!

Why Join VALIDATE?

Get feedback on your idea from experienced innovation advisors.

Learn how to connect with potential customers and stakeholders. Develop a sustainable business hypothesis and a clear pitch, with a focus on storytelling. Meet other entrepreneurs and form new collaborations.

What we expect from you:

To make the most of VALIDATE, we ask participants to:

  • Complete a small amount of preparatory work before the programme begins.
  • Commit to the tasks and “homework” assigned between sessions. (Don’t worry, it won’t take long, but it’s crucial for getting real value out of the sessions!)
  • Attend each of the four sessions in person.
  • Contribute by sharing insights and knowledge with others in a safe, open environment. By putting in this effort, you’ll not only boost your own progress but also help build a collaborative and supportive community for all participants.
