Suturion
Revolutionizing abdominal wall closure
Trauma surgeon Dr. Gabriel Börner often saw patients suffer from complications after open abdominal surgery. Inspired by evidence that the small-bites technique could significantly reduce these issues, he founded Suturion in 2018 with a clear mission: to increase patient safety, ensure surgical precision, and lower healthcare costs.
Through extensive pre-clinical research and multiple patents, Suturion developed SutureTOOL™, a groundbreaking device for abdominal wall closure. Comparable to an advanced sewing machine, SutureTOOL enables surgeons to adopt the recommended small-bites technique with precision, reducing the risk of complications and improving patient outcomes.
In 2024, Suturion reached a major milestone by completing a clinical trial, paving the way for CE and FDA approval. Today, Suturion have secured distribution agreements in several different countries around the world.
