Dos and Don'ts for your application

Writing an application can be time consuming, tricky and perhaps not the most amusing part of your job. But it is definitely important.

We've seen hundreds of applications and we know what mistakes to avoid, so we made a list. And as you will see, it is not a list of magical tricks. It's more about common sense and giving the application the time needed.

Here it is:

  • Start in time! You know this one already, but often it is the hardest part.
  • Before you start writing - read the call for applications carefully. Believe it or not, in most cases all the info you need is in the instructions.
  • Answer all questions in a clear manner.  The reviewer shouldn’t have to guess or look for information.
  • Have a clear plan for the implementation of the project. Where do you stand today and what are your project goals?
  • Make it clear to the reader how the goals and issues of the project are aimed at verifying your business hypothesis, or reducing the risk of the project.
  • Budget – specify the various costs and number of working hours.
  • Ask for help! When you are done, have someone that doesn't know your project in detail read and comment on your application.
  • Last but not least, avoid unnecessary formal errors. It's just unnecessary.

Best of luck!
