Startup Stories: Seeing opportunity where others see waste

Join us for this edition of Startup Stories and hear Truls Christenson, founder and former CEO of Rscued, share his journey from seeing the potential in wasted fruit at the age of 19 to building and running a company based on turning food waste into value.
Take away inspiration, insights and practical tools to start shaping your own journey.

Truls started his entrepreneurial journey at 19 years old in a small restaurant kitchen and went on to build Rscued into one of Sweden’s most sustainable juice brands. With a business idea based on creating products from food that would otherwise go to waste, he served as CEO for 11 years.

During this session, Truls will talk about entrepreneurship, circular business models and how to build innovative organisations. He will share insights from both successes and setbacks, with a focus on one key lesson: that one of the most important skills for driving growth is learning to see opportunities and having the courage to act on them.

Whether you already have an idea, are curious about entrepreneurship, or simply want to understand how something overlooked can become the foundation of a business, this session will give you inspiration, practical insights and honest reflections on building something of your own.

Food will be served during the session.

About Startup Stories

Startup Stories is a recurring event series where entrepreneurs share their real journeys, from idea to reality. In each session, you’ll meet a founder who talks openly about their path, focusing on lessons learned, challenges faced and practical insights. Many of the speakers have received support from Lund university's innovation office, LU Innovation, and want to share what they’ve learned along the way.
