LU Innovation Talks: Curtis Carlson
How can you have a career in a Lund's "Silicon Valley"? The phenomenon "Silicon Valley" is based on mutual support between world-leading academic education and research, at Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, and innovators and financing institutions driving high-tech companies in the Bay Area. Lund University and companies at Ideon and other locations have the capacity and ambitions to create a similar phenomenon around Lund, in this way also offering ambitious young people a wealth of alternative career opportunities.
During this event, former President and CEO of Stanford Research Institute International (SRI), Curtis R Carlson, pioneer of what is now recognized around the world as the most successful innovation process, the SRI Five Disciplines of Innovation, will offer his views on innovation and academia. He will touch upon subjects such as what is needed to create a flourishing ecosystem that fosters new companies, creates jobs, builds and attracts competence, and that integrates research, development and production.
With this lecture, we hope to stimulate the idea that knowledge from the University can evolve into innovations and thereby generate positive spin-off effects into society as a whole.
